UN aid chief Martin Griffiths says “attack on humanitarian workers are unlawful” after UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) said Israelis opened fire on aid convoy travelling on an authorised route.

South Africa has initiated war crimes proceedings against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), saying operations in Gaza amount to “genocide”.

At the UN Security Council, an Israeli official promised “full-scale war” on Hezbollah in southern Lebanon if attacks on Israel’s north continue. A Palestinian envoy said Israel was giving the people of Gaza the option of “death or displacement”.

In Gaza, at least 21,507 people have been killed and 55,915 injured in Israeli attacks since October 7. The death toll from Hamas’s attack on Israel stands at 1,139.
