DHAKA: US state secretary John Kerry said in London on Sunday that ‘the window for diplomacy (with Iran) is cracking open’, in comments via satellite to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee summit in California.

‘But I want you to know that our eyes are open, too. While we seek a peaceful resolution to Iran’s nuclear programme, words must be matched with actions,’ he added, reports The Jerusalem Post.

‘In any engagement with Iran, we are mindful of Israel’s security needs.’
