How to bond with your partner

If you've had an arranged marriage, chances are that there's still a lot for you to find out about your partner. Many couples who choose to take the arranged marriage route these days are given the liberty of spending time with each other, but this may not always happen, perhaps due to distance or time constraints. Here are a few ways that you can bond with your partner after you tie the knot...

Binge-watching
This is one of the best ways to get to know your partner's likes and dislikes. Pay attention to the jokes he/she laughs at, what moments capture his/her attention, what makes him/her cry (if at all), and so on. All you need is to find a TV show that you both want to find and you're set.

Working out together
If you are a fitness freak and your partner is not, you can motivate him/her to start working out to stay fit. Choose any activity that you are both interested in, such as going to gym, playing a sport or swimming.

Cook a meal together
This will not only help you bond better, but will also make you a team. If you are the one who enjoys cooking, ask your partner to help with cutting vegetables and washing the dishes. This will help you identify what your partner is comfortable doing.

Play games
Playing different kinds of games will help you figure out how your partner thinks, and this in turn will aid in understanding him/her better. Play word games, strategy games or board games — whatever catches your fancy, as long as you have fun in the bargain.

Go hiking
Going on a trip is a great way to get to know your partner, especially when it is just the two of you that go on the holiday. Go on a hiking trip or trek into a forest. The peace and quiet calms one down, making it a great place to talk about anything under the sun.

Forget about your mobile phone for a bit
While gadgets have enhanced our lives in many ways, there are times when technology, especially mobile phones, hamper relationships. The beeping of a phone can get very distracting and you could forgets to listen to what the other person is saying. So keep your phone aside for a couple of hours and communicate with each other instead.
