How to Use Coffee Instead

Most women do it at some point in their lives, either they want a change, a touch-up, or want to get rid of that unsightly gray dying our hair is what we do. You might want to consider a different method as of now because your favorite hair dye might be linked to cancer.

British scientists are saying that both home hair coloring kits and expensive salon dye might be posing an ever growing cancer risk. The scientists say that chemicals in permanent hair dyes may react to tobacco smoke and other airborne pollutants, “to form one of the most powerful cancer-causing compounds known to man.”

More than one-third of women and one in ten men regularly color their hair, researchers say that it is imperative that the risk to health is quantified.

And, of course, the cosmetic industry strongly disputed the claim. The researchers say the information was available, and all, they did, was join the dots to make the cancer link.

“In the interest of consumer safety, it is imperative that a thorough and independent investigation is conducted to establish the levels of toxicity of these compounds and the potential risks.”

The researchers do say that more information was needed to fully calculate the risk. “At this stage, we can’t be sure of the amount of N-nitrosamines produced or the level of risk these compounds pose but it is clear a potential hazard exists.”

By using an easy coffee mixture, you will get the desired shine, shade, and even promote hair growth.

Make a strong coffee mixture, I suggest espresso. Let the coffee cool, and mix 2 cups of leave in conditioner with 2 Tbsp organic coffee grounds and 1 cup cold brewed coffee. Apply the mixture onto your hair and leave it in for an hour, and this will give your hair a beautiful chocolate color without any damage.

To seal in the color, rinse your hair first with water and then pour the coffee over your hair. Leave the mixture in for 20 minutes, and use apple cider vinegar to rinse the color out of your hair and seal the color in.
