The delegation will arrive in Bangladesh on October 7 and stay till October 13. It will include six delegates plus support staff, said US Embassy Spokesperson Bryan Schiller to reporters.
He said it will meet the Bangladesh Election Commission, government agencies, political parties, citizen observers, civil society organisations including women's and youth groups, Bangladeshi and international media organisations, and foreign diplomatic missions.
In the end of its visit, the delegation will issue a public statement highlighting positive trends as well as areas of concerns. It will also offer practical recommendations, Schiller added.
The team is likely to hold a series of briefings and consultations with relevant international stakeholders, policymakers in Washington, DC, and constituencies supporting electoral integrity in Bangladesh, the spokesperson also said.
