Deputy editor of BanglaNews24 Tapan Chakraborty was admitted to a super specialized hospital in India’s Kolkata on Sunday after suffering a heart attack.
He was visiting Kolkata for personal purposes and was supposed to be in Bangladesh today (October 10).
According to Banglanews Kolkata correspondent, Tapan Chakraborty felt sick after midnight, he took primary treatment on Sunday morning.
However, after feeling better, he hired a car to go to his relative's house in Madhyamgram. On the way, he again felt sick and was then rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors on duty referred him to a specialized hospital, said Banglanews correspondent.
After the initial examination of Tapan Chakraborty, doctors said that he had a heart attack about 12 hours ago. There is a 100 percent block between the two main valves of the heart, and the other one functioning 10 percent, reports the correspondent.
However, treatment started without any delay. Two rings are placed in the heart of Tapan Chakraborty, correspondent added.
According to the doctors, the heart did not receive blood for 12 hours, so currently 30 percent is working. The patient will be kept under observation for 24 hours. But he is better now. If all goes well, he may be moved from the critical unit to a general bed on Monday (Oct 9).
