Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said on Thursday (November 9) that the election schedule would be announced very soon as the Election Commission (EC) will hold the national polls at any cost.

CEC came up with the announcement after a meeting between EC officials and President Mohammad Shahabuddin at the Bangabhaban.

CEC said that the election will be held on time. 

Elections must be held before January 29 at any cost, he added. 

Earlier today, EC officials reached the Bangabhaban for a meeting with President Mohammad Shahabuddin to obtain permission to announce the schedule of the 12th national parliamentary election.

The EC already held meetings with Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan and the heads of the law enforcement agencies and ministries.
