Human trafficking ringleader Dalim evades authorities to flee country

Md. Abdul Goni, also known as Dalim, ringleader of a human trafficking gang managed to evade Dhaka airport authorities and flee to Malaysia after several attempts to make a fake passport using fake certificates.

Dalim hails from the Gowaldi Char area in Sonargaon Upazila, located in the Narayanganj District, son of Abdul Jalil.

However, Dalim’s identity is recorded differently in various documents, including his passport, where he is identified as Tariqul Islam or Al Amin, and his age is given as 47 years.

According to information provided by sources, Dalim is engaged in human trafficking, and deceived many Bangladeshis by posing as an expatriate, later selling them to brokers in various countries, including Nepal.

The alleged person not only changed his name but also went to the extent of altering his father's and mother's identities, as well as his birth address to culminate his illegal activities, according to sources.

However, fraudster Goni managed to dodge the immigration and flee the country after several attempts to make a fake passport using fake certificates. Later, when his certificate was proved to be fake, UP Chairman Masud filed a written complaint at the police station.

Earlier on May 2023, Tariqul Islam alias Abdul Goni alias Dalim was arrested by RAB-11 on charges of involvement in human trafficking and extortion of expatriates as hostages. His passport named Tariqul Islam was seized during the arrest. But just six months after the arrest, Gani fled the country with another passport.

He returned to his criminal empire in Malaysia. Several expatriates have filed multiple charges against Abdul Goni, including fraud and human trafficking, with the Malaysian police.

Meanwhile, a case was filed against Goni under the Human Trafficking Act at the Gournadi police station in Barisal. How did the accused in the pending case flee the country is now the question of the victims and the residents of his village.
