DHAKA: A new coastal shipping line is scheduled to operate from March between Chittagong, Mongla, Narayanganj and Teknaf ports in Bangladesh and Maungtaw, Pathein, Sittwe and Yangon in Myanmar.
Plans for the line have been delayed for a couple of years but now look to be on track.
Trade between the two neighbours stands at around $100m per year at the moment, with both governments keen to push that figure up to $500m in the short term and as much as $1bn by 2020.
