JESSORE: An Air Force training aircraft made an emergency landing on a paddy field of Mahidia village under Sadar upazila of the district near Jessore Airport due to mechanical fault on Thursday noon.  

The two pilots of the plane managed to come out safely from the plane. They were rescued and taken to Birshrestho Matiur Rahman airbase by the rescue helicopter of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Assistant Director of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Nur Islam said that the accident took place while the aircraft was on a regular training session.

The pilots of the plane noticed the mechanical fault and made an emergency landing on a paddy field in the area around 11:22am, he added.

Assistant Superintendent of Police of the district Reshma Sharmin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
