DHAKA: A Bangladeshi delegation led by foreign secretary Shahidul Haque met with US assistant secretary of state Nisha Desai Biswal at her office on Tuesday.
In the meeting, Nisha Biswal said she wanted to portray US- Bangladesh relations to the senate committee in a balanced manner within a broader context.
Nisha reiterated that US would continue its activities with the Bangladesh government as it earlier promised to do that.
Bangladesh ambassador to the United States Akramul Quader, deputy chief of mission M Abdul Muhith, and foreign office’s director general for American Desk M Mahfuzur Rahman attended the delegation.
Bangladeshi delegation will stay in Washington till February 22, said, Swapan Saha, press minister of Bangladesh embassy in Washington.
The foreign secretary later will meet with senior advisor for Myanmar Judith Cefkin and a number of officials of the Department of Labour, USTR and State Department`s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour.
