KUSHTIA: Information Minister and president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) Hasanul Haq Inu termed BNP founder Ziaur Rahman as the fourth Mir Zafar of the history.

He came up with the observation to the journalist while visiting the shrine of Hajrat Solayman Shah Chishti (Ra) at Gopalnagar under Bheramara upazila of the district on Friday noon.

Hasanul Haq Inu said that Ziaur Rahman was one of the thousands of followers of the great leader and pioneer of the independence Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Sheikh Mujib led the Liberation War where Ziaur Rahman was only a sector commander under him, Inu added.

Even after the liberation war, Ziaur Rahman worked as an Army officer under the government of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he said.

However, after the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib, the scenario changed as Zia quailed with the constitution and history of Bangladesh, he added.

The Information Minister also criticized about the political activities of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. He further said that Khaleda won’t be able to get rid of ten truck arms case, Grenade attack of August 21 and corruption charges.

The president of district JASAD Golam Mohasin, general secretary of the party Abdul Alim Swapon, Additional Police Superintendent Sohel Reza, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Mirpur upazila Siarazum Munira and others were present there.
