Fakhrul on fresh remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on a 5-day fresh remand in a vandalism case filed with Motijheel Thana.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Emdadul Haque passed the remand order after Detective Branch (DB) sub-inspector Anwar Hossain Khan produced before the court with 10-day remand plea.

Earlier, Fakhrul was placed on a three-day remand in a case filed with Paltan Thana for vandalizing vehicles.

However, DB police arrested Fakhrul from the National Press Club premises on January 6.
