SATKHIRA: At least 56 people, including 28 leaders and activists of the BNP and its key ally- Jamaat-e-Islami, were detained in a special police drive in Satkhira.

The special drive was conducted in different parts of the district from Thursday night (February 01) to Friday morning (February 02).

Special branch of the Satkhira district police confirmed the matter in a press release.

According to the press release, 18 people were detained from Kolaroa upazila, while two from Tala, seven from Kaliganj, five from Syamnagar, six from Ashashuni, three from Debhata and five from Patkelghata.
