DHAKA: The lawyers of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia have reached at the gate of Central Jail in Old Dhaka with a plea to know about her overall condition.

Three lawyers, Barrister Mahbubuddin Khokon, Advocate SM Zulfiqar and Zakir Hossain, reached at the main gate around 6:35pm on Friday (February 9).

Zakir Hossain told Banglanews that they have come to meet the jailer with a application to know the current condition of their party chief.

Earlier in the afternoon, four family members of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia including her elder sister Selina Islam, younger brother Shamim Eskandar went to meet her at Dhaka Central jail.

On Thursday (Feb 8), A special court in Dhaka sentenced five years imprisonment to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and 10 years imprisonment to other accused in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case filed by the Anti Corruption Commission.

Khaleda Zia was taken to Dhaka Central jail after the verdict.
