DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Sunday (February 11) directed the prison authorities to provide first class division as per the jail code to BNP Chief Khaleda Zia who is jailed in a corruption case.

Dhaka Special Court-5 Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman passed the order at 11:15am.

Earlier, Khaleda’s lawyers Barrister Jakir Hossain and Advocate Aminul Islam filed the petition with the court seeking division for Khaleda. 

However, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was sent to jail on Thursday (February 8) after a special tribunal sentenced her to 5-year in prison in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
