DHAKA: BNP wants to hold a public rally in Dhaka on February 22, demanding unconditional release of the party chief Khaleda Zia who was jailed for five years in a corruption case recently.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the announcement at BNP central party office in Nayapaltan Friday morning (February 16). 

“The rally will be arranged demanding immediate release of the party leaders and activists including Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman and cancellation of the cases filed upon false allegations against them”, Rizvi said.

While asking about the venue of the rally, Rizvi said that permission has been sought for Suhrawardy Udyan. Otherwise, it will be held at Nayapaltan, he added.

Several top leaders of BP were present there.
