DHAKA: The High court will deliver its order on BNP chairperson Khaleda’s bail petition after receiving the case records from trial court.
An HC bench of Justice Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim passed the order on Sunday (February 25) after concluding hearing on Khaleda’s bail petition.
Earlier on Feb 22, the HC accepted the bail petition filed by Khaleda Zia’s lawyers for hearing. On that day, High Court also ordered trial court to send Khaleda’s case records to HC within 15 days.
Senior lawyer AJ Mohammad Ali moved for the Khaleda Zia in court while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam moved for the state and lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan moved for the Anti-Corruption Commission.
On Feb 8, a special court in Dhaka sentenced five years imprisonment to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. She was sent to Dhaka Central jail following the verdict.
