DHAKA: A Dhaka court has fixed March 13 for hearing the defence argument of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust graft case and also extended her bail till then. 

Judge Dr Md Akhteruzzaman of Dhaka Special Judge’s court-5 passed the order on Monday (February 26) following a bail petition filed by Khaleda’s lawyers. 

BNP Chairperson’s lawyer advocate Abdur Rezak Khan told Banglanews that the court fixed March 13, 14 for hearing the defence argument of Khaleda and extended her bail till March 13.

Earlier in February 8, the same court sentenced five years imprisonment to Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. She was sent to Dhaka central jail following the verdict.

The High Court is hearing on Khaleda’s bail petition in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. On Sunday (February 25), the HC said it will give order on the bail petition after receiving Khaleda’s case records from lower court.
