Jamaat has no right to stay in this country: Muhith Muhith at the finance ministry conference room

DHAKA: Terming Jamaat-e-Islami enemies of the country, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said the leaders, activists and supporters of Jamaat have no right to stay in Bangladesh.

The minister came up with the remark while talking to the newly elected committee of BCS Economy Service in the conference room of his ministry at the secretariat Monday (March 5).

In reaction to the attack on Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) teacher Prof Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, AMA Muhith said, “It is assumed from BNP’s speech that they launched this attack together with Jamaat.”

In response to a question--“Is there any initiative to ban Jamaat?”-- he said, “Yes, there is an initiative, but it is difficult to ban.”

“The government's stance against the fanatic and fundamentalist groups is very logical. They are being tracked down. This has not done anywhere in the world,” Muhith added.
