DHAKA: Eight leaders of BNP including secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to the old central prison to visit their party chief Khaleda Zia who is serving in a corruption case.
The BNP leaders entered the prison in Nazimuddin Road of old Dhaka at around 3:00pm.
Earlier, a list of ten BNP leaders was submitted to the prison authorities seeking permission to meet Khaleda.
Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Jamiruddin Sircar, Dr Moyeen Khan, Mirza Abbas, Amir Khasru and Abdus Sattar are among the listed entered the prison after being given permission.
However, a Dhaka special court sentenced Khaleda Zia to five years' rigorous imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on February 8.
