DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday (March 7) granted remand on various terms for twelve leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal including Shahbagh thana unit Swecchasebak Dal President Shafiul Bari Babu.

Dhaka Metropolitan Chhatra Dal Vice President Jakir Hossain, Assistant Organising Secretary Akter Hossain, Dhaka College unit Chhatra Dal Joint Secretaries Mamun Hossain, Hafizur Rahman Hafiz and Dhaka metropolitan war-17 Jubo Dal Secretary General Rafique Dewan Sumon are among the accused.

They were detained on charge of obstructing vehicle movement and hurling brick chunks at the policemen in killing attempt on March 6. 

On the same day, BNP formed a human chain before the Jatiya Press Club demanding unconditional release of their party chief Khaleda Zia.
