DHAKA: The High Court fixed Sunday (March 11) for passing an order regarding the petition seeking bail for BNP Chief Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim passed the order Thursday (March 8).
Senior lawyers AJ Mohammed Ali and Joynul Abedin moved for Khaleda while Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik moved for the state at the courtroom.
Lawyer Khurshid Alam moved for Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
On February 22, the HC accepted the plea challenging the trial court verdict against Khaleda Zia.
Dhaka Special Court-5 installed on the premises of Madrasa-e-Alia in the city’s Bakshibazar area sentenced BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to five years jail term on February 8, in the corruption case. She was sent to jail on the same day.
