Khaleda hopeful to get justice: Lawyers The lawyers brief media

DHAKA: Jailed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s has confidence on court decision and she is hopeful to get justice, said her lawyers Thursday (March 8).

A team of five lawyers meet Khaleda at the old central jail at Nazimuddin Road of old part of the capital city in the evening (March 8). The prison authorities permitted them to enter inside at around 4:30pm.

They are—Advocate AJ Mohammad Ali, Advocate Joynul Abedin, Barrister Mahabubuddin Khokon, Advocate Abdur Razzak and Advocate Sanaullah Mia.

The lawyers briefed media, leaving the jail after visiting the BNP chief. 

“What was my fault? I even didn’t sign any document. Justice will be ensured someday. I have confidence and respect to the court”, said Joynul and Khokon quoting Khaleda. 

“The BNP chief is doing fine. She has respect to the court. She is hopeful to get bail in the ‘false case’’, the lawyers further told media. 

A Dhaka special court sentenced Khaleda Zia to five years' rigorous imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on February 8. She landed in jail on the same day.
