CHITTAGONG: Terming BNP Acting Chairman a terrorist, Awami League Joint Secretary General Mahbubul Alam Hanif said that Tarique Zia is provoking terror activities including secret killings in the country, from London. 

“Tarique Zia stepped into the politics as a terrorist. Some are suspecting Tarique Zia, from London, of administering the secret killing of the country including the attack on Zafar Iqbal”, he said.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, however, has been living in London for nine years.

Hanif was addressing the joint extended meeting of Chittagong metropolitan, north and south units of Awami League, at Muslim Hall in the port city Saturday (March 10).  

He urged Awami League leaders and activists to keep them (BNP) detached from the people.

However the meeting was held as part of the preparations for a party rally in Chittagong’s Patiya on March 21.

Housing and Public Works Minister Engr Mosharraf Hossain, Metropolitan unit Awami League leaders including Acting President Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury and General Secretary AJM Nasir Uddin, among others, attended the meeting.
