BNP needs not save democracy: Quader Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader talking to reporters

COMILLA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said the government will not be held responsible if BNP boycotts polls like they did in previous January 5-election and their decision will not affect the country’s democracy.

He also said, “BNP needs not try to save democracy as democracy what they mean is killing people with petrol bombs.”

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remarks while inspecting bridge renovation works in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla on Sunday noon (March 11).

The minister said there is no question about Bnagladesh’s democracy in home and abroad. Whether BNP join polls or not is completely up to them. The government is not responsible for it nor will the democracy be affected.

“Mirza Fakhrul said BNP won’t join polls without Khaleda Zia. It is their party decision but government did not interfere in Khaleda’s graft verdict.”
