DHAKA: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed alleged that government is using the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) as a tool to delay Khaleda Zia’s bail and to accomplish political goals.

The BNP leader was addressing a press conference in its party central office in city’s Naya paltan area on Friday (March 16).

Rizvi came down heavily on the ACC as it filed a leave-to-appeal petition with the Supreme Court to extend its stay order on Khaleda’s bail, and is functioning as the main tool of the government to fulfill Prime Minister’s demands.

Speaking about the role of the Attorney General, the senior BNP leader remarked that the AG spares no effort to imprison Khaleda Zia and her party activists for life. He (AG) is not the lawyer of the country, rather lawyer of Prime Minister.”

BNP Chairperson's adviser Abdus Salam, Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokan and Executive Committee member Aminul Islam were present in the conference.
