DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said polls-time government will be formed of representative parties of the current national parliament.
Obaidul Quader, also, the Road Transport and Bridges Minister made the remark while talking to the reporters at the secretariat on Wednesday (March 28).
Mentioning that the national parliamentary election will be held in due time as per election process, Quader said there is no question of the premier’s (Sheikh Hasina) resignation during the election.
“Who will lead the country then, if the premier resigns? Is it Khaleda Zia (BNP Chairperson), who will lead the country after coming out of jail?” Quader asked.
“It’s up to BNP whether to join the election or not. Why the government has to call them (BNP) to participate in elections?” he added.
While asked about the formation process of polls-time government, he said the polls-time government will be formed with the representative parties of the parliament.
And it is solely up to the prime minister, Quader said further.
