SHAHBAGH (DHAKA): Convicted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was taken back Old Central Jail after conclusion of her health check-up and tests at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital.
The vehicle left the hospital for the prison at Nazimuddin Road in Old Dhaka, at 1:33pm Saturday (April 7). The vehicle was escorted by some other vehicles of law enforcers including police and RAB (Rapid Action Battalion), to ensure safety.
BSMMU Hospital sources said that the BNP chief underwent health check-ups at Department of Radiology & Imaging. Details couldn’t be known immediately.
Khaleda was taken at the hospital at 11:34am, from the jail.
Four physicians of BSMMU—Dr Foyzur Rahman, Dr Mamun, Dr M Ali and Dr FM Siddiq were appointed to see her.
The hospital sources said that the physicians talked with Khaleda to enquire about her physical condition.
However, BNP has been claiming that their party chairperson’s physical condition isn’t well since she was jailed in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on February 8. In wake of the claims, the government has taken step for Khaleda’s treatment.
