BARISHAL: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said his party won’t sit for any discussion with the government or the like-minded quarters before the unconditional release of the party chief Khaleda Zia.

“Now the topic of discussion is only one and that is—the release of leader Khaleda Zia. No compromise in question of her release,” he said.

“At first, she (Khaleda) has to be freed and then the matter of discussion on other topics can come,” he added.

Fakhrul was addressing a public rally, demanding unconditional release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, organized by Barishal Metropolitan unit BNP at Barishal Hemayet Uddin Central Eidgah Ground on Saturday evening (April 7).    

Khaleda Zia is the ‘mother of democracy’ who struggled throughout her life for the emancipation of the countrymen, he told the rally further.
