DHAKA: Awami League Publicity & Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud said that BNP-backed ‘terrorists’ have involvement in the attack on the residence of Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor.
“(They) wanted to originate fire unfastening the gas connection at the VC residence,” he said.
Hasan was addressing a press briefing in front of the Jatiya Press Club Wednesday (April 11), protesting the vandalism on DU VC residence and unrest on educational institute campuses.
(They) vandalized the fan of the residence, commode of the bathroom and looted gold jewelleries. None but the ‘petrol bomb cohorts’ backed by BNP-Jamaat can carry out such types of acts,” he added.
“We don’t think there is any obstruction in reforming quota system. But the ‘terrorist quarters’ of BNP-Jamaat entered into you”, said Hasan indicating the quota reform protesters.
BNP arranges press briefing every now and then and try to blame the government for everything, added Hasan.
