DHAKA: Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is being given all necessary treatment in jail with due respect and importance.
“Khaleda Zia is a former prime minister, a politician, and an elderly woman. We are quite aware of her treatment,” he said.
“She is having treatment with due care. She is taking medicine regularly, as prescribed by the doctors. She is fine,” he added.
Nasim was addressing a press conference held at the Health Ministry on Monday (April16).
Alleging that BNP is spreading lies over their party chief’s treatment, Nasim said: “BNP leaders are making allegations to pursue futile politics.”
Khaleda Zia landed in the old Central Jail in Nazimuddin Road of old part of the city after she was jailed for five years in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on February 8.
