LONDON: Visiting Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the government of United Kingdom to repatriate Tarique Rahman convicted in several cases.
She said, “We talked to UK government on the issue. He (Tarique) has been staying in London to evade trial in several cases. He will have to face the court."
Premier was replying to a question at a discussion titled 'Bangladesh's Development Story: Policies, Progresses and Prospects' at Overseas Development Institute (ODI) here on Tuesday afternoon.
She also criticised the UK for giving shelter to a fugitive convict like Tarique Rahman.
On Rohingya issue, Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh has signed an agreement with Myanmar for the repatriation of Rohingyas.
