DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday (April 21) called upon the government to take the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia, now in jail in a graft case, at United Hospital as her health condition deteriorated.

He came up with the demand at a press conference at a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office at 11:00am.

Earlier on Friday night, senior joint secretary general of the party Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed made the same demand.

He also said she has been diagnosed with several disorders including rheumatic arthritis that causing her severe pain. The medical team suggested Khaleda Zia to be admitted to United Hospital for better treatment.

BNP Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, among others, attended the conference.
