DHAKA: A Dhaka court has deferred to May 10 the argument hearing in Zia Charitable Trust graft case, as the prime accused BNP chief Khaleda Zia couldn’t be produced before the court Sunday (April 22).
Dhaka-5 Special Judge Court Judge Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman fixed the date.
It wasn’t possible for Khaleda to be present at the court due to sickness, her lawyer Advocate Sabaullah Mia told the court.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Mosharraf Hossain Kajol sought Khaleda’s appearance through videoconferencing which wasn’t accepted by the court.
Earlier, the court fixed Sunday for the same hearing.
However, ACC filed the case against Khaleda and three others with Tejgaon police station on August 8, 2011 for embezzling Tk3.15 crore from Zia Charitable Trust.
