DHAKA: Leaders and activists of BNP, led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, staged demonstration in Badda area of the capital city, demanding immediate release of their party chief Khaleda Zia.

The agitation program was organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North unit BNP. 

The rally began from in front of Hossain Market area and ended at Middle Badda, on Sunday noon (April 22).

“BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been convicted with a political vengeance. She is critically ill. She isn’t given proper treatment,” Fakhrul said.

“We are demanding for taking her to United Hospital for treatment, after releasing her (from the jail),” he added.

BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas, Dhaka Metropolitan North Unit Jubo Dal President SM Jahangir Hossain, Vice President Munshi Bazlul Basit Anju, Secretary General Ahsan Ullah Hasan, and Organizing Secretary Anwaruzzaman Anwar were among others joined the rally.
