DHAKA: BNP leaders formed a human chain in front of party’s main office in city’s Nayapaltan area demanding release of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

BNP activists came out on street with banners after 10:00 am on Wednesday (April 25), though they were supposed to start program at 11:00 am.

Thousands of BNP activists formed human chain, stretching from Fakirapool intersection to Kakrail’s Nightiangle intersection.

BNP supporters were chanting: “My mother is imprisoned, I won’t go back home…Demonstration can’t be hampered by attack.”

Images of Khaleda Zia and acting chairman Tarique Rahman were seen in supporters’ hands while protesting.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Mirza Abbas, chairperson's advisor Zainul Abdin Farroque, joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, organizing secretary Emran Saleh Prince, training affairs secretary ABM Mosharraf Hossain, co-organizing secretary Advocate Abdul Salam Azad, acting general general of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Secretary Habibur Rashid Habib, deputy youth secretary Mir Nawaz Ali Nawaz, Dal senior vice-president Karim badaru moratajula, Sultana Ahmed, general secretary of the party in opposition, youth, student, volunteer groups, women's groups, activists,  members of associate organizations were present in the program.
