DHAKA: BNP will stage demonstration in the capital on Wednesday (May 9) in protest of being denied permission to hold rally here today.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme at the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Monday (May 6).
He said, “We asked for permission to hold a rally today demanding the release of Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail but police didn’t give us permission. In protest we will hold demonstration programme in Dhaka.”
The BNP leader alleged that the government is afraid and thus not allowing people to exercise their democratic rights. He strongly condemned and protested the denial of permission to hold their rally.
