DHAKA: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy has joined the National Election Steering Committee of the ruling party, ahead of the 11th parliamentary polls.  

This makes him formally involve into Awami League’s campaign for the national polls. 

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, also the son of the prime minister, has been included in the committee, upon a decision taken at a joint meeting of Awami League’s central executive committee, advisory council and parliamentary party, said sources from the meeting.

The meeting held at the Ganabhaban Friday (Oct 26) evening. 

Joy has been appointed as a member at the core section of the election steering committee of Awami League making him formally joined in the party forum for the first time.

Sources said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been made chairman of the core section of the 33-member basic committee.

Awami League Advisory Council member HT Imam has been made co-chairman and Secretary General Obaidul Quader secretary member.

Awami League presidium members Sajeda Chowdhury, Matia Chowdhury, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Mohammad Nasim, Syed Ashraful Islam, and Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, advisory council members Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed and Mohammad Nasim are among other members of the committee for election.
