DHAKA:   Election Commission (EC) postponed election in Gaibandha-3 (Palashbari-Sadullapur) constituency following the death of Oikyafront candidate Dr TIM Fazle Rabbi.

EC secretary Helaluddin Ahmed briefed reporters about the decision from Nirbachon Bhaban in city’s Agargaon on Thursday (December 20).

Re-schedule of election in that constituency will be announced after getting death certificate of Fazle Rabbi, EC secretary added.

Dr TIM Fazle Rabbi passed away on Thursday (December 20).

He breathed his last around 2:20 am at city’s United Hospital.
