CHATTOGRAM: Police arrested four persons in a case filed over the alleged murder of Awami League leader Mohiuddin Sohel in Chattogram.
The arrestees are—Md Ramjan Ali Karon, 30, Md Iqbal, 21, Md Lalon, 50 and Md Shakil, 19.
They were nabbed at early hours of Monday (April 1) morning, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Assistant Commissioner (Double Mooring Zone) Ashiqur Rahman told Banglanews.
They will be produced before the court later in the day, he said.
Mohiuddin Sohel, a former leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League, was allegedly lynched at Pahartali Bazar on January 7.
Police and local traders then claimed the deceased as a terrorist and extortionist.
On January 8, the deceased’s younger brother Shakirul Islam Shishir filed a case with Double Mooring Police Station accusing 27 named and some 100-150 unnamed persons including local councillor Saber Ahmed.
