DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged international community to force Myanmar for Rohingya repatriation.
“On World Refugee Day, BNP is committed to combat crisis of all refugees in the world, including Rohingyas who took refuge in Bangladesh,” BNP Secretary General said in a message sent on the occasion of World Refugee Day on Thursday (June 20).
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said: “We express our sincere solidarity with the struggle of all the refugees in the world as human beings. Currently, the number of refugees is increasing rapidly in the world - which is very scary.”
He said: “New crisis is being created as refugees are getting involved in crimes in various countries, owing to starvation and poverty, which is posing threats to local cultures. So challenges of shelter and security remain there, even though refugees are driven out of their own countries.”
Terming World Refugee Day as very significant, he said it falls to the international community for refugees to live as human beings and to treat them with humanity.
