DHAKA: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad is suffering from bone cancer. The amount of hemoglobin in his blood is less than 10 percent since ago.
JP Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga revealed the update to media after attending a joint meeting of the party at HM Ershad's Banani office.
JP presidium members and lawmakers took part in the meeting.
The party has formed a nine-member committee headed by presidium member Kazi Firoz Rashid, to look into the ailing chairman's treatment measures.
Ranga said a physician from Singapore will come here to observe the party chief's condition and decide whether he will be taken to Singapore.
However, the meeting chaired by HM Ershad's younger brother also JP Acting Chairman GM Quader.
The former military ruler has been admitted to CMH-Dhaka on Wednesday (June 26) with old-age complications.
