Efforts strengthened to bring back Bangabandhu killers

DHAKA: Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader said that diplomatic efforts have been strengthened to bring fugitive killers of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman back from abroad.

The minister was talking to reporters after paying tribute to the martyrs of August 15 at Banani graveyard on Thursday (August 15) morning.

Obaidul Quader said, "Today, our oaths today have to bring the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu back from abroad in abroad and execute the verdict against them. For that Sheikh Hasina's government has strengthened diplomatic efforts."

He said, “This day in 1975 is the most scandalous, bloody, tragedy day in our history. On this day, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the visionary of Bangladesh, the greatest Bengali of the past thousand years, the great architect of independent Bangladesh, the father of the nation and the designer of the Bangladesh map along with most of his family members was assassinated.”

Awami League general secretary said, "Today, we swear, we will build a corruption-free Bangladesh under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter following the integrity and ideals of Bangabandhu." 

“We will establish non-communal Golden Bangla free from hunger, poverty and illiteracy as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu,” he added.
