Kiwis win T20 over Tigers

DHAKA: New Zealand won the only T20 match by beating Bangladesh by 15 runs in Mirpur Shere Bangla National Stadium.

The host side lost all wickets to score 189 runs in response to visitors-set 205-run target.

Captain Musfiqur Rahim scored the highest 50 run.

Earlier in the day, the visitors won the toss and elected to bat. They took a responsible 204-run loosing five wicktes. Colin Munro and Devcich scored 73 not out and 59 respectively.

Al-Amin Hossain begged two wickets while Ziaur Rahman, Sohag Gazi and ABdur Razzak took one wicket each.

With this, Bangladesh have lost seven of their last eight matches, and remain under teams like Netherlands and Scotland. According to cricket analysts, a fast improving team in the ODI format, Bangladesh have not yet adapted to the game’s shortest version.

Earlier on November 3, Bangladesh whitewashed New Zealand in the 3-match ODI series beating the visitors by four wickets in the final match at Falullah in Narayanganj.

On October 25, the second Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand ended in a draw after rain washed out the fifth and final day of the match at the Dhaka`s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The result ensured the two teams shared the honour in the series after the first Test in Chittagong also ended in a draw.
