Nepal beat Afghanistan

DHAKA: Nepal beat Afghanistan by 9 runs in the qualifying round of Group A of ICC World T20 on Thursday.                       

Afghanistan scored 132 runs in 20-over for 8 in reply to Nepal’s 141 for five wickets.                   

Afghanistan batsman Asghar Stanikzai scored highest 49 runs from 36 balls and Shafiqullah bagged 36 runs from 32 balls.    

Nepal bowlers JK Mukhiya and Sompal Kami bagged three and two wickets respectively.       

Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to field at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.                

SP Khakurel scored 56 runs from 53 balls and S Vesawkar bagged 37 runs from 32 balls.                                   

Afghanistan bowler Shapoor Zadran bagged 2 wickets while Dawlat Zadran and Mirwais Ashraf got one wicket each.
