DHAKA: Gayle’s record breaking double ton and Samuels’s hundred helped West Indies set the highest ever World Cup score in the 15th match of ICC World Cup against Zimbabwe in Canberra Tuesday.

West Indies lost two wickets to score 372 runs basing on another World Record of partnership of 372 runs in their stipulated 50-over.

Chris Gayle scored a mammoth 215-run, highest individual score in the World Cup, off 147 ball with the help of sixteen 6’s ten 4’s before getting out in the final ball of West Indies innings while Marlon Samuels amassed 133-run off 157-ball.

This was Gayle’s 22nd One Day International (ODI) hundred while eighth for Marlon Samuels. Both the batsmen shared 372-run stand, which is the highest score in any wicket in ODI matches.
