DHAKA: On March 19 (Thursday), defending champions India face Bangladesh in the second quarter-final of ICC World Cup 2015. Unbeaten India start favorite in this clash at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
India cruised into the knockout stage with a clean sheet in Pool B - winning all six - against Pakistan, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, West Indies, Ireland and Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh, the fourth placed side in Pool A, won three matches to book their spot in the last-eight phase. The winner of India-Bangladesh game faces either Australia or Pakistan in the semi-final.

1. This is the first time the two are meeting in a quarter-final of World Cup. The previous two have been in group phase
2. The World Cup head-to-head record is 1-1. Bangladesh stunned India in 2007 to play a big part in sending them home from first round while MS Dhoni-led outfit drew level with a thumping win in 2011
3. India have two World Cup centuries against their neighbours. Both came in the same game in Dhaka in 2011. Virender Sehwag smashed 175 and Virat Kohli scored 100 not out
4. India captain Dhoni was out for a 3-ball duck in 2007 edition, his only World Cup innings, against them. He did not bat in 2011
5. No Bangladesh batsman has scored a World Cup hundred against India. The highest score is 70 by Tamim Iqbal, in 2011
6. Kohli, in his World Cup debut match, hit an 83-ball 100 not out against Bangladesh in 2011
7. Six Bangladesh players in the current squad played in 2011 game - Tamim, Imrul Kayes, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah and Rubel Hossain. 8. Overall in ODI cricket, Bangladesh have beaten India only thrice in 29 meetings. India won 24 and other two were no results
9. This is the first ever meeting between India and Bangladesh in Australia
10. In March 2012, Bangladesh defeated India by 5 wickets in Asia Cup. That famous match is remembered for Sachin Tendulkar scoring his 100th international century (114 in 147 balls)
