DHAKA: New Zealand have made a flying start while chasing a 298-run adjusted target (D/L method) set by South Africa to make a debut in World Cup title clash.

Till filing the report, they scored 71 without any loss in 5-over at Eden Park, Auckland.

Earlier, in the rain delayed match, Proteas earned 281 in 43-over in after Plessis scored 82 runs and De Villiers 65.

Kiwi bowler Anderson and Boult bagged three and two wickets respectively.

Earlier, South Africa captain AB de Villiers on the toss and opted to bat. The match began at 7:00am Bangladesh time.
