NEW DELHI: Australia`s cricket captain Ricky Ponting said on Tuesday he was satisfied with security arrangements for his team`s tour in India even as concerns grew over next month`s Delhi Commonwealth Games.

"During our tours we are regularly briefed as far as security issues are concerned," Ponting, currently in India for a Test and one-day series, told reporters in the northern city of Chandigarh.

"We are satisfied with the security arrangements here," he added, the Press Trust of India news agency reported.

Ponting`s comments came as Australia issued a stark travel warning, saying there was a "high risk of terrorism" during the October 3-14 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

On Sunday, two attackers on a motorbike opened fire on a tourist bus in the Indian capital, injuring two Taiwanese members of a television crew.

Australia`s cricketers, who arrived in India on Monday, begin the month-long tour with a three-day practice match against the Indian Board President`s XI in Chandigarh from September 25.

The two Tests in Mohali (October 1-5) and Bangalore (October 9-13) will be followed by three one-day internationals in Kochi (October 17), Visakhapatnam (October 20) and Goa (October 24).
